Health Tips by Sarah – edition 5

Satisfy your sugar cravings with healthy sweets!

My 4 goto healthier options:

1) Home-made granola | Store-bought has A LOT of unnecessary sugar!

(Follow @healthylivingjames on Instagram for other great recipes!)

2) Dark chocolate | My fav brand is the Lindt Excellence!

(Keep in mind, the higher the percentage, the less sugar it is likely to contain!)

3) Peanut butter cookies  | Yes there’s still sugar, but less than the usual cookie recipes!

(Note: You can substitute coconut sugar for brown sugar)

4) Date energy balls | There are MANY recipes online, below is how I make mine!

Ingredients

                  • 1 cup of dates
                  • 3 tablespoons of all-natural peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)
                  • 2/3 cup of oats
                  • Teaspoon of coconut oil, almonds, chia seeds, flax seeds (OPTIONAL)

Instructions

                  • Place in blender until all ingredients are in pieces
                  • Roll into one-inch balls
                  • Place in freezer for 20-30 minutes and ENJOY!
