Meet the students of the HEC Montréal MBA

Dominic Migneault - Directeur, Communication
Dominic Migneault – Étudiant MBA 2017

Why an MBA? Why HEC Montréal?
An MBA was a project I had in mind for a long time as I was interested in the business world. I chose HEC Montréal because it’s a recognized school, but especially because it came highly recommended to me by friends.

Tell us a bit about your career before the MBA.
I mainly worked in the public sector prior to the MBA. After a stint at the Québec National Assembly, I worked for the Department of Immigration’s Hong Kong office and then for the Department of International Relations at the Québec Government Office in Tokyo.

What has been your favorite course so far?
I really like the course « Business Context » (economics) mostly for the diversity of the themes taught.

Describe your ideal job in five words.
Diversified, stimulating and international. An answer in three words rather than five!

Game of Thrones or House of Cards?
Question difficile, vraiment difficile. Je dois toutefois choisir Game of Thrones parce qu’il n’y a pas de dragons dans House of Cards.

iPhone or Android ?

What was your most memorable trip?
Israel and Palestine.

What advice would you give to future MBA students?
To take full advantage of the MBA experience, you must organize your schedule well and participate in related activities (clubs, sports, case studies, networking, etc.)

Tell us about your favorite place in Montréal.
Big in Japan, (the bar, not the restaurant). This well-hidden place on St. Laurent is a true treasure!
